So I was at the station today looking over my log of music for Saturday's show and I came across a new song...new for me at least. It's called "Cinderella" by Steven Curtis Chapman....makes me think of my own little Cinderella.....my Faith Isabellla.
I think I'm one of the few parents my age who "get it." I see so many parents out there who are totally oblivious to the fact that their kids are so close to being gone (in so many ways). I cherish my children and I know I still don't spend enough time with each one of them one-on-one. Listening to the words of this song, I'm reminded of the times I dance with Faith in our kitchen while I'm making up songs about "how beautiful Bella is" and she just laughs and laughs from spinning around the air in front of the sink.
The words "All of a sudden, the clock will strike midnight and she'll be gone." Makes me think of the times me and my wife watch "Say Yes To The Dress" on TLC and I see the dads there that can't hold back the tears....that will be me one day....that's almost me now just thinking about it.
I LOVE the words "I know something the prince never knew....so I dance with Cinderella...I don't even want to miss one song.....cause all of a sudden, the clock will strike midnight....and she'll be.....gone."
I think I'll have a dance with my daughter today when I get home.
